WHAT IS IT
Los Angeles Trial Lawyers’ Charities is partnering with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division, bringing “Comfort & Joy” to families in South LA. We will have TWO SHIFTS (6 am – 10 am and 9:30 am – 1 pm). Sign up for one or stay the whole time!
While we cannot create a Holiday Village with games and entertainment this year, LATLC (with YOUR help) will still purchase toys, food, groceries, and household items for 500 South Los Angeles families in need. The exact format for delivering the items is still being planned. This is the TENTATIVE SCHEDULE so STAY TUNED!
DETAILS (TENTATIVE PLAN)
DEC. 1-3: The toys, food and goods will be delivered and stored at the LAPD right along 34th Street. They need to be unboxed and organized. Bags of toys and household items will be assembled before Saturday. Families have identified the ages and genders of children, so each toy “wish list” will be filled and the ticket attached. Food and household goods will be bagged separately.
DEC. 4: This will begin LATLC’s “Miracle on 34th Street.”
A VERY modified event will kick everything off. Volunteers will transform the area with some large inflatable holiday characters. Families will be invited to receive their toys and items.

BACKGROUND:
This started with an idea in 2016 – LATLC should create our own independent community event. Since then, it has grown to an incredible annual event for thousands of neighbors in south Central Los Angeles. At the height of the pandemic in 2020, LATLC volunteers could not directly participate in the assembly and distribution of the items. LAPD officers became “Patrol Car Santas” and put together the bags and delivered them throughout December!
