Lauren Wood has over twelve years of litigation and trial experience, specializing in all types of plaintiffs’ personal injury and wrongful death matters. Lauren is the founding attorney of L Wood Law Corp. She has tried numerous cases to verdict—all of which were trials where she was either the solo trial attorney or lead chair—and also has experience in arbitration and settling cases through mediation and other methods of alternative dispute resolution. Lauren has taken hundreds of depositions, consisting mostly of defendant drivers, witnesses, police officers, store owner/corporate PMKs, governmental entity PMKs, trucking companies, biomechanical experts, accident reconstruction experts, orthopedic specialists and other medical experts, and many others.
Lauren has obtained hundreds of six and seven-figure verdicts and settlements for her clients. She is an active member of the State Bar of California and is licensed to practice law in California state courts as well as the United States District Court, Central District of California.
Prior to starting her own firm, she was a trial attorney at Omega Law Group in Beverly Hills, where she handled a case load consisting of six, seven and eight figure cases, managed and oversaw the litigation associates, taught deposition taking skills, discovery practices and general practice tips and reviewed the firm’s pre-litigation files, making recommendations on when to send cases into litigation.
Prior to joining Omega Law Group, Lauren was a former partner of the Law Offices of Schurmer and Wood in Ventura County. During her time at Schurmer and Wood, she tried several cases to verdict, mediated dozens of cases and took hundreds of depositions.
Lauren Wood is actively involved in many local and statewide attorney organizations. She currently sits as the Treasurer and board member of the Western Trial Lawyers Association (WTLA) and will be president of the organization in 2025. Lauren is also an emeritus member of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Charities (LATLC). Ms. Wood served a three-year term on the State Bar’s California Young Lawyers Association (CYLA) Board of Directors from 2016 to 2018. She also served as the Secretary of the Ventura County Barristers and served as a board member of the Ventura County Bar Association from 2019-2021.
