Philip Michels, A Professional Law Corporation, in practice over 30 years, is founding principal of Michels & Lew located in Los Angeles. He received his BA in Mathematics from UCLA, his MA in English from UCSB and his JD from UCLA School of Law. He is a California State Bar recognized specialist in Medical Professional Liability and certified by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys in Professional Negligence. Phil was President of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles in 2011 and named their Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2003. A long- time member of CAALA, Phil was a member of their Board of Governors from 2001-2005 and its Executive Board from 2005 to present. He was voted by the American Trial Lawyers Association Top 100 Trial Lawyers in California. He is the author of numerous articles in legal and other professional journals and is a frequent speaker at CAALA and CAOC events.

His top legal skills are exemplified by his inclusion in Best Lawyers/US News 2006 to present, Best Lawyers in America 2006 to present, Southern California Super Lawyers 2006 to present, including top 100 lawyers from 2009 to present. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is ranked 10 by AVVO.

Mr. Michels’ associations and memberships include Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, American Board of Trial Advocates, American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys, American Association for Justice – Leaders Forum, Consumer Attorneys of California and Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Early in his career, Mr. Michels was an arbitrator for both the American Arbitration Association and the Los Angeles Superior Court.
