VOLUNTEER PROJECT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED – SEPTEMBER 10

WHAT IS THE SERVICE PROJECT:

This is a “women’s empowerment” event for women volunteers and women residents at Clare/Matrix.  Clare/Matrix is a wonderful organization that helps change the lives of individuals and families affected by alcohol, substance use, and behavioral health issues by providing proven and effective treatment, education, research, and training.  LATLC women volunteers will join women living at the Clare/Matrix residential facilities in Santa Monica, creating vision boards and participating in a self-defense class.

DETAILS

SEPTEMBER 10 (NEW DATE)

10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

We will have two groups going simultaneously – one for a self-defense class and one to create vision boards, and then we will “switch” so everyone can share in this great “women’s empowerment” day.  LATLC will also provide lunch to the residents and volunteers.

 WHO THEY ARE:

In 2018, two Los Angeles nonprofits dedicated to recovery from substance use – CLARE Foundation and The Matrix Institute on Addictions merged to form CLARE|MATRIX. With over 80 years of combined experience, CLARE|MATRIX is positioned to deepen and expand impact with the powerful combination of treatment, prevention, behavioral health support, research and training.

At CLARE|MATRIX you will find 24 hour residential treatment as well as a variety of outpatient programs that integrates the Twelve Step principles, The Matrix Model and other evidence based approaches, designed to meet each person’s needs and circumstances. LATLC has supported them since 2011.   However, this is our first in-person volunteer project.
