WHAT IS THE SERVICE PROJECT:
Heading back to school can be a stressful time for families, as they often find themselves struggling to provide their kids with the basic supplies needed to support their educational journey. Imagine LA wants to ease the stress of this yearly rite of passage and provide the children in their program with all they need to succeed in school over the next year at their annual Back-to-School bash. LATLC is excited to be part of this “mini-carnival.”
Our volunteers will be needed throughout the day, and we have two shifts you can choose from (or enjoy the entire event! Here are photos from their 2022 event.

We will be part of Imagine LA’s “Back to School” celebration – for students to receive backpacks filled with supplies (LATLC’s donations include Loveys, stress hearts, pencils, erasers, jump ropes, and Bomba Socks). There will also be games and other activities for the families at a “mini-carnival.”
WHO THEY ARE:
Imagine LA prevents first-time and repeat homelessness and equips families to maintain housing stability and thrive long-term. They help transform lives through a holistic combination of case management, economic mobility pathways, and whole-family mentorship.
All family members ages 5 and up have the opportunity to be matched with their own trained volunteer mentor. Mentors, under the guidance and coaching of the family’s case manager, provide personal attention for their mentees and foster connectedness, new opportunities, and mutual growth. Lives are transformed at every level.
LATLC has supported Imagine LA since 2011.
