Mr. Alder has won dozens of jury trials and has negotiated scores of top dollar settlements on behalf of his clients over his 15 year career. The youngest winner ever of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles’ (CAALA) celebrated Trial Lawyer Of The Year award, Mr. Alder has also been honored by his peers in the legal profession as one of the Top 100 Super Lawyers in Southern California in 2008 and 2009 (fellow lawyers have a chance to vote on the best lawyers they know, in any area of the law – those who receive the most votes are Super Lawyers, which Mr. Alder has been since 2004, and the Top 100 vote getters are named the Top 100 Super Lawyers in Southern California by ;
Los Angeles Magazine). He has been a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) since 2003, and has been nominated three times for California’s top Trial Lawyer of the Year (in 2004, 2008 and 2009). He was selected by
The Daily Journal, one of the country’s leading legal newspapers, as one of the Top 20 Lawyers under the age of 40 in California in 2005.

A long-time board member of the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), Mr. Alder was President of CAALA in 2012. In 2006, he was elected by CAOC to become one of nine members of the Board of Directors for Southern California, after serving as the PAC Chairman for Southern California during the 2005-06 election. He remains on the CAOC Board since 2009.

Mr. Alder has given nationwide seminars on litigation and published multiple articles on litigation strategy and practice. He has been a speaker at multiple continuing education seminars and regularly speaks at CAALA’s annual Las Vegas convention on topics ranging from advanced trial skills to the use of technology in the courtroom.

Mr. Alder grew up in southern Louisiana, attending Louisiana State University (LSU) and graduating from LSU Law School in 1992. After clerking for The Hon. Lenore Prather, Presiding Justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court, he began his career at the Los Angeles offices of the late David M. Harney, a legendary California trial lawyer. He then moved on to work for and be mentored by Michael J. Piuze, one of the best trial lawyers in the country.

Mr. Alder is a founding member of Trial Lawyers Charities, and a founder of the Alder Family Foundation, which is devoted to assisting students in obtaining quality education based on merit, regardless of their ability to pay. He is also a member of the Board of Overseers of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association.
