Shawn Steel

Shawn Steel has practiced since 1978 creating a new field of law. By defending alternative medicine doctors, Steel developed a boutique area of law defending doctors and representing their patients in personal injury matters. Steel is the author of over 40 articles and chapters in books, regarding personal injury and alternative medicine law. He is a frequent lecturer for doctors re-licensing credit throughout California. Steel has been teaching Ethics and Jurisprudence to doctors in training at Cleveland Chiropractic College since 1991.

Mr. Steel received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with California state teaching credentials, from California State University, Northridge, his master of arts from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and his Juris Doctor from Northrop Law School.

Governor Pete Wilson appointed Steel to serve on the California Acupuncture Board, where he served for 7 years. His colleagues elected Steel as Chairman of that Board for two years in a row. Steel has testified to the legislature, regarding changing laws impacting patient rights.

Shawn Steel, was elected Treasurer of the California Republican Party in 1995 and served 2 four year terms. He is a past chairman of the California Republican Party (GOP) and founding director of the California chapter of the interest group, the Club for Growth. Shawn also serves as a member of the Republican National Committee. Elected in 2008, he will serve a four year term. Mr. Steel was also elected Treasurer of the RNC in 2008.

Mr. Steel has also written articles published in every major newspaper in his state and in several national newspapers.
