Philip Michels, in practice over 30 years, is the founding principal of Michels & Lew located in Los Angeles. He received his BA in Mathematics from UCLA, his MA in English from UCSB and his JD from UCLA School of Law. He is a California State Bar recognized specialist in Medical Professional Liability and certified by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys in Professional Negligence. Phil was President of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles in 2011 and named their Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2003. A long- time member of CAALA, Phil was a member of their Board of Governors from 2001-2005 and its Executive Board from 2005 to 2014. He was voted by the American Trial Lawyers Association Top 100 Trial Lawyers in California. He is the author of numerous articles in legal and other professional journals and is a frequent speaker at CAALA and CAOC events.
