Gregory Rizio is the senior partner of Rizio & Nelson, a law firm specializing in catastrophic brain injuries, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death and personal injury. His most recent success was a jury trial verdict of $57,974,402, in Riverside Superior Court, which is the largest ever plaintiff's verdict in Riverside County. This also became the #1 verdict in the state of California and the 10th largest verdict nationally. As a result of this verdict, Mr. Rizio has been awarded the Litigator's Award in the categories of catastrophic brain injuries, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death and personal injuries, which is bestowed upon the top 1% of attorneys nationwide. Mr. Rizio has represented many clients wherein he has negotiated multi­million dollar settlements including a catastrophic brain injury case for $9,000,000 against a City for a dangerous condition of public property and he gained national recognition settling a nationwide class action breach of contract dispute against Farmers Insurance for $5,312,878. He also recently settled a $2.5 million dollar settlement against a County for negligence and a $4 million dollar settlement against a rehabilitation facility.

Mr. Rizio is actively involved in associations committed to the success of California trial lawyers. He has committed his law career to memberships and councils where he can make a difference. He currently serves on the Inland Empire's ABOTA (American Board of Trial Advocates) executive counsel, is the past president of the Consumer Attorneys of the Inland Empire (CAOIE) and serves on the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) Executive Board where he is involved in fighting the unfair MICRA law. Mr. Rizio continues to be recognized as a Southern California Super-­Lawyer, is a life member of the Multi­-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and maintains a perfect 10 AVVO rating. Mr. Rizio is a member of the National Trial Lawyer's Association as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer. As a result of Mr. Rizio's record breaking verdict in Riverside, the Western San Bernardino County Bar Association awarded him as Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2014. Mr. Rizio has also been nominated by CAOC as trial lawyer of the year in 2014. He was also recognized as being one of the regions top trial lawyers in the Inland Empire magazine in 2013. He is one of the top 10 mediators in Riverside County, where he provides court ordered and private mediation services.

Mr. Rizio is a frequent speaker at the CAOC and CAALA Annual Conventions, as well as presenting informative national webinars. He currently is involved with the New Attorney Academy through the Riverside County Bar Association and Riverside Superior Court. Mr. Rizio recognizes the value of investing in the professional development and training of new attorneys by helping to enhance their fundamental skills they need to begin a litigation career. He teaches that credibility is crucial and possibly one of the most important qualities of a good attorney.

Mr. Rizio received his BA degree from Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego in 1988, and earned his JD at California Western School of Law, San Diego, in 1991. Mr. Rizio worked for the San Diego District Attorney's office from 1991­-1992 as a Deputy District Attorney Pro Tem, in the Major Drug Division. He started Rizio & Nelson in 1992.

Greg is married and has 3 children, 17, 16 and 11. He splits time between volley ball games, soccer games, watching his daughter cheer and his involvement with his church. When the family can schedule a quick get away, they enjoy going to their condo in Brian Head, Utah, or up to their house in Lake Arrowhead.
