Having spent his entire career with The Cochran Firm -- California, Brian T. Dunn was originally hired by Founder Johnnie L. Cochran Jr. as a law clerk in the summer of 1992. His practice places emphasis on civil rights and police misconduct litigation, and since 2016, he has prevailed in seven (7) jury trials on behalf of plaintiffs alleging excessive force against law enforcement officers, including five (5) resulting in judgments in excess of one million dollars. As an attorney, Brian has handled many of the Los Angeles office's most high-profile police misconduct cases, including those involving Geronimo Pratt and Tyisha Miller. Brian has affected changes in the municipal police training programs and has changed the law through litigation. A case he tried before the California Supreme Court resulted in a unanimous landmark decision that significantly expanded the rights of convicted arrestees who were subjected to excessive force during arrest. Brian is a member of the State Bar of California and the State Bar of Nevada and has practiced in the United States District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also been admitted to the United States Supreme Court.
